It’s undeniable that the addition of Stewart is yet another indication that the Isles are focused on making a significant run at a President Cup this season.

The former Moncton Wildcat defender will bring stability, toughness and defensive accountability to the Isles backend.

No The Antigonish, Nova Scotia product is a “Jim Hulton” type player through and through.

The hard nosed gritty stay at home, puck moving defender can log big minutes in any scenario.

Hulton will no doubt elect to use Stewart primarily in a shut down role.

There’s no question Sean Stewart is a perfect fit for the Isles given the fact he can play both D positions with relative ease.

A deal like this might not seem like a blockbuster, but it’s the type of trade that great hockey minds and championship caliber teams make to ensure they have the opportunity to win when it matters most.
