2026 QMJHL Draft Preview: Final Edition Analysis and Scouting Reports for Round 1 to 5, “C” and “E” Rated Atlantic Canadian Prospects Ranked by the CSR

The future of the Quebec Maritimes Junior Hockey League is upon us. Going strictly off the QMJHL CSR’s Final List, I dive into some quick analysis and scouting reports from predominantly video platforms.

Watching video isn’t the same as being in the rink and it never will be, but that doesn’t mean you can’t learn a lot about player tendencies especially what they do way from the puck. Young players that compete like hell and do all the little things the right way jump off the screen. Video platforms continue to be a game changer. Nonetheless, these platforms are not the same as the eye test or being in the rink, but they are the next best thing.

The Prospect Exchange continues to be on the cutting edge of the technology which make our jobs easier by providing access to players from across the hockey world. Obviously, I couldn’t have done these reports without video platforms.

Video platforms are critical and really help scouts to drill down refining and projecting player tendencies. TPE does a comprehensive job and is leading the way when it comes to covering Atlantic Canadian teams/players which provides those prospects with more exposure which is essential for identifying and projecting young talent.

Prospects Ranked in the 1st Round by the CSR

  1. Thomas Boisvert This kid jumps off the screen instantly based on how dynamic of a talent he is, especially when it comes to his speed and agility, He’s as shifty as anyone and really drives things out there, He does everything at top speed and thinks the game at the same rate as well which is rare, I would like to see him commit more defensively and stop on pucks a touch more in his own zone and be tougher to play against below the dots, Solid in the face off dot, but there’s some room for improvement there, but that will come with more reps and experience, Based on how smart and how well he processes the game, he will adapt very quickly next season, there’s no question, he will be a teams 2nd line center to start the season, but will no doubt be that franchises 1st line center by the midway point of his rookie campaign, They might elect to play him on the wing as well, which could be dangerous based on the way he shoots and passes the puck, He’s excellent in traffic and isn’t scared to create and break players down by directly attacking them, Some highly skilled dynamic players often settle for what time and space is given them, this kid is on full attack mode all of the time, He will have to bring that same intensity and attacking mindset to the other side of puck to gain the trust of his coaches at the next level, Boisvert’s passing ability and creativity is off the charts which also speaks to his hockey sense, Obviously at his size right now he will have to get stronger upper body wise, but that will come, he isn’t timid at all, but next year he will have to continue to find ways to engage and get to the middle which won’t be a problem for him because of his skating and the way he thinks the game,

2) Julien Bergeron Bergeron’s ability to create and make plays in traffic is no doubt his strongest attribute, this kid processes the game at a different level with subtly which is great to see, can rip the puck as well, tremendous pucks coupled with his play making ability and vision makes him a very dangerous player, Again comparables and comparisons aren’t always fair, but when I watch Bergeron, I see some signs of Jakob Pelletier, He might not have Pelts speed, but he certainly possesses his shiftiness, willingness to compete, creativity and ability to use everyone and make them better, This kid can really play the game, has all the makings of a dynamic point getter in the Q, and I wouldn’t be surprised he teams elect to play him through the middle eventually based on his play making ability and vision, He will have to continue to up his physicality and compete level even more to excel, but players as smart as this kid usually do that within the first 10 games of their junior career, This kid is fun to watch especially when he has time and space on the man advantage, but in any situation for that matter, tons of pro potential here, just has to continue to get stronger and a touch more explosive so he can separate in open ice, He’s agile enough in traffic to elude would be checkers already which is also fun to watch others miss when they expect they have him cornered.

3) Zaac Charbonneau all the makings of a very solid power forward, skates well and has good puck skills, great release, gets it off fast and it’s accurate,  processes the game well, would like to see him throw the body more frequently which will only buy him even more time and space at the next level, Again with all power forwards, skating gets called into play a lot, Charbonneau can move and is very good linear skater, his agility will come a long as he continues to work on his stride, but he will have to work on his explosiveness so he can beat more defenders to spot and use his leverage to continue to generate offence and transition,

4) Pierre Alexandre Lemieux strong skater, will have to refine his explosiveness and agility to reach his full potential at the junior level, would like to see him skate better routes on regroups to be better option to receive passes from his D, competes hard and processes the game well, good vision and passing ability, solid puck skills and is good in traffic, skates well for his size, but he will have to bring even more speed to his game if he wants to play through the middle at the next level, it might be weird to say and write this, but from what I’m observing here’s a player that’s still getting to understand what he can do and what he can’t do with his size and skill and how he fits into the playing that power game, once he finds his way, lookout he will become a force to be reconned with, Some shifts he jumps off the screen and plays like a man amongst boys, and that’s some foreshadowing of the type of player he can be in the future, tons of potential in this player

5) Vincent Boutet possesses all the tools to be an effective transitional two and half zone defender at the next level, Won’t drive offence from the backend at the junior level, but is skilled enough to run the power play skates incredibly well and has good puck skills, at some points he needs to be more patient and composed with the puck so he doesn’t rush the process which can cause unwanted turnovers, like all young defenders Boutet will find that balance, Again this kids skating is extremely efficient and effective, he just needs to find that same level of efficiency when it comes to moving the puck which is definitely there, This kid is going to be an excellent 2/3 D in the Q, There’s no question he will be tested physically, but there’s no backdown in this player and I think he’s going to adjust nicely, He’s Q ready and could jump in and have an instant impact as a 4/5 as a 16. He will eat minutes and play in any situation for the team that drafts him,

6) Jacob McKinnon speed and grit, McKinnon has it all and more, this kid is the ultimate competitor, does things at top speed and gets to the middle all of the time, it doesn’t take too long to see that he absolutely loves going there as well, Again comparables and comparisons are not fair at the best of times, but it’s not hard to see who McKinnon models his game and style of play after and that’s Brad Marchand, he’s so smart with and without the puck This kid is going to be massive point getter at the Q level and it’s just a matter of time, All the critics will question his size, but they won’t question his hockey IQ, drive, offensive skill and size of his heart, this kid is exciting to watch, The team that select this kid will be getting a top six forward and naturally gifted scoring left winger, pro potential here and I don’t care how tall he is,

7) Damien Leduc  solid skating rangy two way center with good puck skills and hockey sense, will have to continue to work on his agility to be more elusive in tight areas at the next level, good vision and passing ability, pass first player, won’t drive a ton of offence at the next level, but definitely projects to be an excellent 3rd line center with offensive upside, Leduc is a big body center who competes like hell is always in the right areas of the ice at the right times which speaks to his hockey IQ, with a small injection of pace to his game Leduc will be an ultra effective player at the next level

8) Aslan Tremblay speedy skilled forward with great hockey sense and passing ability, no hesitation and panic in this kid’s game, moves the puck incredibly well, can really rip the puck, it’s hard and very accurate, Always on his toes, and always in the middle of the ice whether trying to generate offence or distributing the puck, Natural winger, but wouldn’t be surprised to see a team try to put him through the middle based on his skating and passing ability

9) Lawrence Williams This kid is a natural transitional “new era” D, with tons of offensive skill coupled with nasty gritty side to his game, His skating is exceptional and only going to get better with maturity, he processes the game so well, always willing to jump into the play, but perhaps his strongest attribute is the ability to pick and chose when to jump in and he also has the innate ability to know when to start driving offensive transition, which a lot of young D don’t understand or ever really figure that out. He will be tested physically next year, but his skating is so good he will make people miss on the forecheck, this kid can actually skate for days and play in any situation, The team that drafts this kid will get a kid that can step in almost instantly and be a 2/3 and will be 1or 2 by the midway mark, Saw Williams at 14 and he was great then, but what I’ve noticed the most from the footage I’ve seen is his patience and  is now letting the game come to him now, which is a true sign of a great player and defender, pro potential in this player, just needs to get even more nasty and tough to play against, but he will definitely get there,

10) Justin Gagnon When you watch Gagnon you instantly see pro potential, his skating is off the charts, he’s agile, strong and quick, he can stop on a dime, has his head up nonstop and is willing to take a hit to make a play, a lot of players with his skating ability pace themselves or coast at times, this kids engine never quits and he’s at full speed all of the time, great to see him stop on pucks as well not a lot of players that skate as well as he does possess those habits and details to their game, two way presence and very reliable in all three zones, Won’t be a point a game player in the Q, but will definitely contribute and has the ability to play any style up and down any lineup

11) Jakob Royer  speedy, skilled competitive winger who skates very well and has a great hockey IQ, it’s great to see this kid backcheck with same urgency and intensity as when the puck is on his stick, this kid is the epitome of second and third effort, he never gives up on a puck battle, very active stick in all three zones, hunts pucks on the forecheck, Royer could be a perfect fit for a 3rd line center or 1st line right winger, that’s how versatile this kid actually is, When you see all the skill and ability it’s easy for some to overlook other intangibles a player possesses, this kid has them all and more, that’s definitely his strongest attribute, this kid is a coaches dream the way he plays, honest two way player with tons of skill and compete, sounds like a pro to me, doesn’t it?

12) Emrik Menard Speed to burn, this kid might not look the fastest or have the best technical stride, but from point A to point B, this kid absolutely flies out there and he competes in all three zones, very good on the halfboards and isn’t scared or timid to go there, very good passer of the puck, he’s a pass first type of player, He has one hell of a shot as well, he can change gears on a dime, exciting player to watch and he can definitely offer the team that drafts him a versatile winger that can bring a shit ton of energy and offensive upside to all four lines!

13) Max Brien strong skating two way forward, highly skilled and thinks the game incredibly well, willing to take a beating in front of the net to score and create which is great to see, Good in the face off dot, will need to refine his skating ability a touch more to play through the middle at the junior level, needs to be more explosiveness in tight areas of the ice which is only going to help play and excel even more in traffic, probably better suited and projects to be a scoring winger, will have to continue to engage even more at the next level to reach his full potential, definitely has the potential to be power forward that generates a tons of points throughout his Q career. From point a to point b, he can there, but a ½ step quicker and this kid will be a force to be reconned with, Again like all highly skilled point getters that generate offence, it’s all about how they adapt and grow their game within the first few weeks in the junior ranks, Brien will need to continue to be assertive and take direct lines to pucks, engage and compete to have the same type of success as he did this year, tons of potential in this player,

14) Maveric Thisdelle very strong and powerful skater, great to see him make subtle plays with the puck, key puck touches and he does that at high speed which speaks to his hockey IQ, good composure with the puck on the offensive zone, willing to take a hit to make a play, Very active stick in all three zones, he has good explosiveness and agility, incredibly shifty for his size, he has the capacity to make people miss in open ice which at his size and stature is very impressive, I would like to see him even more aggressive on the forecheck and be more physical in those scenarios, Not saying take runs at guys, but be more purposeful with his body every chance he gets, tons of potential in this player, especially given his speed and ability to attach in open ice and willingness to engage in traffic,

15) Jack Cameron excellent skater and transition defender, very effective and efficient when it comes to transitioning pucks, Cameron and Lawrence Williams have been compared throughout their careers which is touch unfair, but both play a very similar game and both are great competitors, Cameron wants to jump into the rush more frequently and is more aggressive when it comes to taking risks than Williams, Picking and choosing his spots might be one area he refines heading into next season at the Jr level, In my opinion Cameron is more comfortable on his offside, but there’s no question he can definitely play both sides at the next level, will need to get strong and get a nastier “in your face” or tough to play against element to his game for next season, he will get tested on the forecheck, but he will adapt quickly based on his skating and his ability to process things at top speed, very important to note for these styles of D that “less is always more” Tons of potential with this kid!

16) Malik Tremblay Yet another speedy winger with high compete and skill, what sets these players apart? Well, their ability to think and process the game and their willingness to go to the middle of the ice, Tremblay is a highly effective skilled energy player that makes everyone around him better, clearly like all these players who are considered “diminutive” it’s their ability to engage, character and the intangibles that they bring to the game, but also their consistency, Tremblay plays with a lot of details to his game which is great to see, very active stick in all three zones, willing to take a hit to make a play, even more jam, grit, speed and strength is needed for Tremblay to reach his full potential at the next level,

17) Zachary Lainesse ultra fast netminder with incredible technique, Of course people are going to talk about his size and stature in there, but his technique shines bright and ultimately wins the day, You can’t argue his passion and consistency for the position, He cuts the angle and challenges like no other young netminder I’ve seen in a long time, he stops pucks and is super athletic in there and if he can continue to do that consistently at the next level, than people shouldn’t give a rats ass how tall or big he is, It’s easy to see he’s very calculated when it comes to his rebound control and is incredibly cerebral when it comes to the position

18) Emile Guevin Everyone will see 5’6 and think, “too small” to have an impact at the next level, but they would be very wrong about that, this kid plays a very impressive game, tremendously skilled, thinks the game exceptionally well, and the old adage rings very true, “you can’t hit, what you can’t catch,” Guevin is in and out of traffic in a split second and like very few can, he presents himself incredibly well to receive the puck and either shoot it or pass it all at top speed, his routes to pucks are impressive, he’s seemingly always in the right spot at the right times,

Prospects Ranked in the 2nd Round by the CSR

    19) Bryce Lazare great skater, does everything with relative ease, does an amazing job using his body to shield the puck from would be attackers in all three zones, very quick in traffic and in small areas which makes him ultra elusive, tremendous puck skills, This kids ability to change speeds is extraordinary, perhaps one of the best players his age, I’ve seen be able to find the soft areas or the seams and then attack those areas with very innate and nature scoring touch and excellent release. This kid is going to put a ton of points on the board at the junior level, again like all highly skilled players they will have to adjust their physicality, but this kid thinks it so well, he will adapt very quickly, obviously, he will have to get stronger but that will come with time, so impressed with this player, is skilled enough to play through the middle, it might very interesting to see what team drafts him and where they elect to play him, but I would elect to keep him on the wing and let him go be that massive point scoring winger that he is

    20) Tommy Leroux  Great set of wheels on this player, can really drive the puck, great two way presence, very good hands and he’s very good in traffic, isn’t scared to get to pucks first, You can tell this kid loves to drive the net and get to the net which is rare in this day and age with highly skilled players so this is great to see, this kid reads and reacts exceptionally well, It doesn’t take very long to realize how much this kid cares about the other side of the puck as well, very active stick in all three zones, really comes back to the puck well and takes great routes to pucks, Great in the dot and there’s no question this kid could be a fantastic second or third line center in the Q for a long time.

    21) Nathan Frost very smooth operator on the backend, doesn’t rush with the puck, this kid has ice in his veins when it comes to handling the puck in all three zones, great puck skills, and he’s a transitional that can really lug the puck and pass whatever the situation calls for, He’s eager to jump into the play, but picks and chooses his spots very well, and has really good gap control, Frost has the potential to be a full three zone defender in the Q and doesn’t mind the physicality of the game or position which is great to see with suck a skilled defender, I would like to maintain his spine angle or posture a touch more often especially when playing one on ones where the forward is attacking with speed to the outside, This kid gets it, plays with his head up engages and plays with some jam in all the right scenarios and can skate for days, There’s no question, he’s Q ready just needs some veteran insulation on the right side and this kid could play and impact, here’s a perfect example of a kid that simply jumps off the screen two shifts in and a player that you want to keep watching, Clearly every young D man can work on their skating and get stronger, but not too many play the game and position as well as Frost does!

    22) Raphael Tetreault speed for days, good compete level, plays on his toes, very good skater and processes the game very well, he’s going to have to get stronger upper body wise to reach his full potential at the junior level, and he can definitely skate at the next level right now, but it’s that will to get his nose dirty and engage, I think that will be an element of his game that he will bring sooner rather than later. Given his path to this point of his career I think it’s pretty impressive to see what he has done this year, and the strides he as taken, clearly size and strength will cause some critics to question this players projection, but perhaps Tetreault just needs times, but it’s clear he can adapt and adapt quickly to a level up in intensity and physicality

    23) Eliot Faucher A very good defensive prospect here, Faucher projects to be a full three zone D man at the next level by 19 great skater, powerful and effortless in his mobility, Like all young and skilled transitional D men, he has to pick and choose and make sure he continues to defend hard in his own zone, At times he’s a touch overzealous about wanting to kick start transition and forgets about his responsibilities defensively, great passer of the puck, and one aspect that jumped off the screen for me was his ability to stay active and always moving on the offensive blueline, he has very good feet and they will only get better with time, maturation and experience

    24) Samuel Nowlan solid skater, but lacks breakaway speed which might hinder his trajectory, incredibly smart hockey player, who has excelled at every level and has put points up at every stop, Very good puck skills and is great in traffic, just needs to work on his explosiveness to make sure he wins battles at the junior level, and gets into and out traffic to create time and space and offence, great shot and gets it off quickly and accurately, Compete level and will to win the puck will be the separator moving forward, needs to engage more and work on his skating especially if he wants to play through the middle at the next level, Perfect example of a player that might turn the corner and figure things out at the junior level and there’s no question he has the ability to be point a game player, but his skating and will to engage needs to elevate

    25) Enzo Roy Size, size and size, Critics will point to this kid’s size as a drawback, he will really have to focus getting stronger though and even more engaging to reach his full potential, there’s no question he can skate for days and moves pucks all day to, but it all comes down to willingness to defend and engage physically, Some young transitional D men can and some can’t, time will tell, but this kid thinks it incredibly well, he’s an elite level skater that’s one man breakout, projects to be that prototypical full three zone defender that will put a ton of points on the board, I’m sure everyone will have their comparables, but he does play a very similar style to that of Xavier Villeneuve of the Armada, Roy is dynamic player and perhaps a player that countless organizations need, hopefully the organization that takes will insulate him and use him in all the right situations

    26) Damian Norris Very good skater, active stick in all three zones, great vision, pass first player, very good puck skills and good in traffic, doesn’t panic with the puck and moves it effectively and efficiently. Going to have to get stronger to win more battles at the next level, but isn’t scared to go to the dirty areas, Really hunts pucks on the forecheck and is very reliable defensively, obviously at 5’11 critics will question his size and ability to compete and generate points, this kid has a lot of will, grit and character, tons of potential in this player,

    27) Nathan Roy Very effective and efficient transitional defender, moves the puck very well, great skater and very agile, would like to see him watch his posture especially when backing up in a one on one situations, Very active with his stick, would like to see him use his body and skating ability to defend even better, Very good at keeping opponents in front of him and contains very well, Here’s a young D man that has the potential to be a full three zone defender at the next level, like we have talked about countless times, it’s all about being willing to defend and get gritty and up his physicality at the junior level,

    28) Simon Olivier Guerard moves extremely well, very efficient in his movements from post to post, Looks bigger than 6’0 in there, which is great to see,  very technically sound, would like to see him challenge a touch more, but this kid is very good netminding prospect, Calm, cool and collected in there, really impressed with this young goalie and doesn’t seem phased by anything which is rare,

    29) Joey Lackman smooth skating defender, very good puck skills, great passer of the puck, transitional style D man, won’t drive a ton of offense at the next level, but can definitely move pucks, Clearly will have to get stronger and focus on taking care of his own zone, but he definitely brings that element to his game, but that’s only going to get tougher and tougher as he moves up the ladder, better suited to play on his strong side, good pivots, but you can tell he’s used to playing his strong side, needs to use his skating ability to gain positional advantage in one on one battles, projects to be a solid 2 and ½ zone defender,

    30) Nathan Boulanger moves well, needs to telescope and challenge more especially given his size. Very square to the shooter and remains square in the butterfly, needs to fight for his space at the top of his creese, if he comes out and trusts his skating and movement he will be even more successful, very solid goaltending prospect, might need more time to make finite refinements to his game before making the jump, but he could definitely make an impact, Again his size might be a deterrent for some, but he’s very athletic in there,

    31) Gabriel Coache-Luqman this kid can flat out play and the particular game I watched through a massive open ice hit that really set the tone, it wasn’t dirty it was just a beautiful hit, he reads the play incredibly well and processes the game and position extremely well, would like to see him maintain his posture longer and lunge towards the opponent, at his size he will have to continue to work on his quickness and agility to continue to reach his full potential at the junior level and beyond, Great first pass, and has good gap control, Surprised to see this kid ranked where he is, to some he may look raw, but in my opinion this kid has pro potential,

    32) Alexandre Noel strong skating rugged defender, with his skating ability, I would like him to hold his gap a touch longer, he has the tendency at times to give up more than a stick and half of space, he as a very good stick and you can tell he relishes the physical aspect of the position and game, here’s a perfect example of a kid that just needs more reps and experience to really refine his craft, projects to be a full 2 zone nasty as hell in your face shutdown defender at the junior level, Noel just needs to trust his ability especially when it comes to his skating and continue to work on his explosiveness and agility and continue to work on his pivots towards the bench.

    33) Morgan Flemming very crafty forward, great set of hands especially in traffic, solid skater, but will have to continue to work on his first step, Needs to continue to improve on the defensive side of the puck and play with the same urgency as when the puck is on his stick, but here’s a kid that can really see the ice and spot the open man, great vision and hockey IQ, Skates well enough to play through the middle at the junior level, but will have to continue to finish his hits and be even tougher to play against at the next level, projects to be a solid 2nd or 3rd line center in the Q, will continue to put numbers up, but will have to continue to get to the middle, engage and generate which I think he can definitely do,

    34) Domenico Borsellino savvy, crafty and very smart diminutive winger that can really handle the puck, thinks the game very well and uses his body well to shield the puck in traffic, obviously will need to get stronger upper body wise to continue to engage and generate offence at the next level, This kid has a natural knack  for finding the back of the net and that’s something you can’t teach, There’s no question this kid can and will produce at the junior, he might need one more year in the U18 to get stronger before he steps on in and contributes

    35) Axel Bolduc gritty two way defender, good skater and can really transition pucks, would like to see him be a touch more patient with the puck at times and use/rely on his skating ability to be more elusive to kick start transition, willing to take a hit to make a play which is great to see, Will have to continue to work on his agility and edge control to elevate his game at the junior level, projects to be a solid two zone shutdown defender at the junior level if he continues to progress,

    36) Alexandre Deschamps solid skating rearguard, moves very well and is very active on the offensive blueline, really enjoy watching this kid gap up, he really trusts his skating and compete level, This kid isn’t going to be an offensive player, but a D man that many forwards will hate to play against in the years to come, I wouldn’t say he’s a pure stay at home defender because he can really skate and transition, but this kid gets it and competes like hell,

Prospects Ranked in the 3rd Round by the CSR

    37) Elijah Sylla very good skater, competes hard, would like to see him compete even harder on the defensive side of the game, very elusive player from the red line and in, needs to bring that same urgency to the other side of the puck, very good puck skills, good in traffic, would like to see him not leave his own zone as much or try to take flight when the puck is still in there, a touch too one dimensional at times, but this kid has a lot ability that you can’t teach and is only going to get better in the years to come, there’s no question he can generate offense with his overall skill set,

    38) Matteo Roy very good skating defender, processes the game well, would like to see him like many other young defenders stay more central and inside the dots, has a tendency to drive wide which gives up quality ice through the middle, transitional type D, which some offensive upside which will translate to the junior level, projects to be a 4/5 D man and 2 ½ zone defender, Like all young defenders that generate points at the U18, I really hope he doesn’t think he has to generate or drive points in junior, some players lose their focus and purpose when it comes to defending, Roy is smart enough and process the game and position well enough to understand that aspect and the team that picks will be getting a very underrated and understated D with tons of potential, Will need to tighten up his gap and trust his skating ability,

    39) Jayden Tillman very good skater does everything at top speed, thinks the game and position well, Very good gap control, and really steps up to pressure and take his space, Calm, cool and collected, plays a very straight forward simple game which is great to see, this kid doesn’t complicate things and can he ever transition pucks, takes excellent lines and routes to pucks on retrievals and isn’t scared to take a hit to make a play, if anything he welcomes the contact and is more than capable to jump up into the play to create offensive opportunities, Here’s another kid that’s ranked a touch low in my opinion, he can flat out play the game and position and plays it with tons of jam and has the ability to move pucks with relative ease. Very good defensive prospect here, This kid projects to be a great full 2 ½ zone defender at the junior level and beyond

    40) Maxime-Alexandre Beaudoin strong skating defender, it doesn’t take you too long to figure out that this kid is a nasty, rugged, old school in your face defender that takes a shit ton of pride in being tough to play against. Absolutely love the fact that this kid stays mobile and doesn’t stand still on the offensive blueline, he has good gap control, clearly like any young defender they can always improve their skating, but this kid is strong on his blades and you can tell he really trusts his skating ability, Great patience and composure with the puck, simply put this kid gets it when it comes to defending and providing transition,

    41) Mavrick Ouellette above average skater, solid puck skills, good quick release, hard working north/south type forward, will have to work on his agility and explosiveness if he wants to play through the middle at the next level, no doubt better suited to start on the wing, not going to drive offence, but he competes like hell,

    42) Malek Belanger powerful stride, good skater, will have to work on his agility, moves well needs to be more shifty in order to breakdown defenders in open ice and in traffic, good puck skills, has a long reach and uses it well, thinks the game well, and is good on the halfboards, here’s a perfect example of a player that might just need more time to refine his skating and when he’s ready will have a big impact as an energy player with solid offensive upside.

    43) Jackson Conroy  solid skating center, it’s pretty clear that this kid isn’t finished growing by the size of skates he’s wearing, I could definitely see this kid get to 6’3 by the end of his junior career, he’s pretty slick in traffic and has good pucks skills, clearly like any young player still developing or growing into his body, things will take time and he still needs to work on his explosiveness, but all the foundation is there, processes the game very well on both sides of the puck, I would like to see him play with even more jam and urgency at times, when he has the puck on his stick he can drive things and creates a lot of time and space, If you look at his numbers, he’s a point a game player, but it’s more about the little things and details in his game that will matter the most at the next level, can he drive offence at the next level, yes, the points will come, because he’s a smart player, but can he handle the physicality and get to the inside and engage to create, I think he can it might take some time but this kid can play,

    44) Logan Leclair very strong skater, might not be the most agile on his blades, but this kid competes like hell and wreaks havoc on the forecheck, he plays a really heavy game and is your prototypical power forward and like most young power forwards they just need time to refine their skating, this kid works incredibly hard and with the same urgency and intensity at both ends of the ice and that’s a rare combination to have which will no doubt serve him well moving forward playing at the next level, he’s not going to drive a ton of offence or anything like that but he can definitely be one hell of an energy player and bottom six winger as early as next season,

    45) Joey Begin solid skating D man, would like to see him maintain his posture more frequently especially when backing up and playing an odd man rush, really enjoy how he stays central and has good gap control, good puck skills, great passer of the puck, doesn’t rush things back there, Will have to get a touch more explosive, but here’s another D man that can really play a solid two way game. Again surprised to see a player like this ranked here, but again, I haven’t watched him all year, there might be some other tendencies to his game that I’m not noticing, but there’s no question he could definitely be a solid 3/4 D at 19 in the league, projects to be a full 2 ½ zone defender,

    46) Chase Cleary diminutive winger, good skater and does everything at top speed, will need to continue to work on his quickness and elusiveness, processes the game well, terrific vision and is very composed with the puck, loves to make plays and is a pass first player through and through, with any small play maker the question remains are they and will they be ready to engage physically and go to the tough areas of the ice to create at the next level? I think Cleary will do that, but he really needs more explosiveness when it comes to engaging one on one battles in the offensive zone and in tight areas of the ice, again that might come with a touch more time, but here’s a player that can process the game very very well,

    47) Alexy Blanchette another solid skating defender, less is more, would like to see him let the game come to him a touch more or not force things especially trying to get start transition, he can really pass the puck and skates very well, so important to keep things simple, Again here’s another good defensive prospect that struggles with posture, tons of potential in this prospect,

    48) Mathieu Genereux solid skater, processes the game well, good vision and good first pass, Very eager to jump up and join the rush and is very aggressive on the offensive blueline, which is great and all, but he has to continue understand where to pick and choose his spots, will not be a big point getter, but skates well enough and projects to be a very solid ¾ D man at the next level, Strong big kid, will have to make sure he’s physical and brings that in your face style to the Q, very good compete level and doesn’t quit on pucks which is great to see, just has to continue elevate that level even more to be a nasty two way defender at the junior level,

    49) Enzo Levy speed and skating ability for days, this kid can fly out there, very good puck skills and he isn’t scared to go all over the ice to create and generate offensive opportunities, clearly he will have to get stronger to win his fair share of puck battles at the next level, this kid competes and has a very good shot for his size, just needs to keep playing with the same intensity and poise at the junior level and he will be a great middle six winger/energy player with a ton of offensive upside,

    50) Carter Giberson Solid skating defender, will need to continue to work on his agility and lateral mobility to reach his full potential at the junior level, very active gap control, would like to see him a touch more patient with the puck at times and not rush it, he has good puck skills, very strong player, projects to be a very good 2 zone shutdown defender at the next level and he won’t have to change the physical aspects of his game because he doesn’t shy away from style of play, if anything he welcomes it, Again, just needs to be a little more composed with the puck and make plays

    51) Loik Poulin hard working two way forward, processes the game and wing position very well, will have to get more agile and a touch quicker in traffic to ensure he reaches his full potential, very strong on the blades and on his stick which is great to see, won’t drive a ton of points at the junior level, but he competes like hell and doesn’t back down, all the makings of big power forward, he does have good puck skills and a heavy shot, He’s skilled enough and works hard enough to play up and down the lineup, Q ready just needs a touch more explosiveness to his game, but that will come with time, tons of potential in this player

    52) Xavier Gervais solid presence between the pipes, telescopes well, slight tendency to drop his trapper in the butterfly, moves effectively, might have to get a touch quicker post to post, again not a goalie guy at all, but has a small tendency to slide off the strong side post which opens things up especially over the glove side when he moves to his left, solid glove side, good rebound control, would like to see him challenge a touch more, but definitely looks a lot bigger in there than 6’0 which is always good to see, tons of potential in this young goaltender, just requires some refinements to reach his full potential, Here’s another example of the importance not to only look at the numbers when it comes to a young goalie and look at the full body of work and their overall technique

    53) Damien Roy Very good skater for his size, great to see him stop on pucks especially in his own zone, processes the game very well, great two way presence, you can tell this kid takes a lot of pride in all the details of the game especially on the defensive side of things, good passer of the puck and good in traffic, Like all big rangy centers skating will be called into question, but this kid is so positionally sound that he makes up for it through that process, but he will have to continue to work on his explosiveness to play through the middle in junior, projects to be a solid bottom six center, not going to light the world on fire offensively, but doesn’t really have to just a good honest player that if his skating improves will have a nasty shutdown center

    54) Nathan LeBlanc Strong skating skilled winger who has a knack for the net, processes the game and position very well, makes subtle plays with the puck, has very good pace to his game, like all young skilled forwards, they will need to continue to find a way to engage and generate points at the next level, I think LeBlanc can do that with his relentless style of play, again like a lot of young very skilled players, sometimes it’s all about willingness as well, LeBlanc will be more than willing to do whatever it takes to be an effective player at junior level, This player has a lot of potential and can definitely play up and down any lineup, Q ready, and can definitely play in a Top 6 role by the halfway point of his rookie campaign especially with the way he skates, just needs to bring even more jam and grit to his game which will only give him even more time and space  to create

Prospects Ranked in the 4th Round by the CSR

    55) Liam Fournier big body winger, that might not look like the prettiest skater, but boy does he every have another gear at his disposal, can really fly from point A to point B. Linear speed for days once he gets things going, great hands in tight and is good in traffic, Plays a lot bigger than his 5’10 stature, protects the puck well in traffic, and thinks the game very well, very good passer of the puck as well,

    56) Simon Cantin solid skating forward, good puck skills and good in traffic, responsible player, competes well, will have to continue to work on his speed and agility to have the best impact at the junior level, would like to see him stop on pucks more frequently especially in his own zone, great vision and can really pass the puck, might not seem like he drives a ton of offence, but he can sure as hell deliver the goods, can really rip the puck, There’s no doubt he’s ranked where he is based on his size, At 5’7 critics will say he won’t be able to be a point getter at the next level, he competes like hell and isn’t scare so I think he can definitely put points on the board, he will find a way, I think he will adjust quickly and he will get used to living life on the inside of the ice.

    57) Nathan Riendeau shifty and crafty forward, very good skater, distributes pucks very well through the middle of the ice, reads the play extraordinarily well, takes good routes to pucks in all three zones which is rare, again size will be looked at a possible weakness, At 5’7 it would appear that some might say he’s too small to play through the middle at the junior level and that might very well be the case, but the way he skates and engages, he could find himself in the middle later on in his Jr career, but for now will definitely find a home on the wing, does everything at top speed and isn’t scared to engage

    58) Colby O’Shaughnessy solid technical netminder, needs to telescope out more and challenge more, down early at times and deep isn’t a good recipe has a tendency to drop his trapper, needs to be quicker with his movements around the net, solid rebound control from distance, but really needs fight for his space at the top of the blue paint and have the confidence to get out there more often.

    59) Liam Duffy polished skater, could skate for days, very good puck skills, thinks the game and position very well, needs to stay more central while defending, solid stick in all three zones, will need more jam to his game if he wants to make a big impact at the next level, very agile on his blades and can make people miss on the forecheck and in open ice, just needs to get stronger and bring an even higher element of grit to his game, Solid point totals, can really run a power play, but will need to pick and choose his spots while jumping up at the Jr level, As in any young offensive defender, the ownness will now be can he deliver points and defend well enough to play and gain the trust of their coaches

    60) Dylan Currie very good skating winger that really plays with an edge, can definitely wreak havoc on the forecheck even with his size, (plays a lot bigger than 5’11) will to compete and skating ability, reliable two way presence and takes a lot of pride in playing the wing position the right way, back checks with purpose which is great to see at this age, would like to see him stop and start on pucks a touch more especially in his own zone, and not turn his back to the puck as well, but that’s a very common issue amongst all young U18 players. This kid could no doubt jump into a Jr roster as a bottom six forward as early as next season, just needs to get stronger,

    61) Noah O’Connell great skater for his size and very agile, great on the forecheck, very good stick in all three zones, great to see him face the puck via open face pivots and not turn his back to the play, uses his frame and body well to protect pucks and A frame to gain time and space, This kid is Q ready right now purely based on his skating, compete level and jam he plays with,  He’s probably ranked where he is based on point production or the lack there of, but the team that appreciates what he can bring will undoubtedly benefit almost instantly, He’s skilled enough with the puck to be net front presence on the power play, and gritty enough to play in a bottom six role as a 16 yr old.

    62) Simon Delarosbil very strong skater and two way forward, this kid is Q ready right now by the way he competes and how he reads the play and plays the game, Can play both forward positions with relative ease, definitely projects to be a 2nd or 3rd line center at the Jr level, Some people might look at his numbers and say he doesn’t drive enough offence to warrant a 2nd line C role, but this kid can play in any situation, he’s an incredibly strong skater, he will have to continue to work on his explosiveness to reach his full potential, here’s another player that I don’t understand why he’s ranked where he is, perhaps it’s his offensive production, but this kid will be selected well before 62nd overall in this years draft in my opinion,

    63) Caleb Pelletier very quick, agile and athletic in there, competes like hell which is great to see in young goalies, one aspect that jumped off the page almost instantly was just how incredibly square and composed he is, at his size, critics will say he’s too small to have an impact and will just get beat constantly up high, with more strength he will gain even more quickness which will serve him very well moving forward, This kid is a puck stopper through and through,

    64) Lou Deslauriers smooth skating D man, solid puck skills and has good composure and patience back there, good passer of the puck, would like to see him gap up better and trust his skating ability, reads the play well, Needs to contain more and maintain his posture especially when closing in on attackers below the dots, Will need to play with more jam and grit at the next level

    65) Tomas Gagnon skates well, will need to continue to lengthen his stride to gain more speed and really focus in on his agility, plays with some grit which is great to see, solid puck skills and skates well enough to eventually play through the middle, takes good routes to pucks and really does a good job being available and opening himself up to receive pucks, will have to get stronger, but really processes the game and center position extremely well, isn’t scared to go to the dirty areas of the ice to create time and space,

    66) Hugo Legare reliable two way presence, solid speed and agility, but will have to get stronger to gain even more explosiveness, hunts pucks on the forecheck and loves to throw the body which is great to see, will have to continue to bring even more grit to his game, not going to light the world on fire offensively, but can definitely play in any situation,

    67) Xavier Lesage very good technique and patient in the blue paint, moves very well and has a quick recovery, really impressed with the way comes out and challenges the shooter and fights for his space, plays bigger and looks a lot bigger than his listed height of 5’11 which is great to see and speaks to his technique, here’s a netminder that might need some more time to develop and refine, but he has a good foundation in which to build,

    68) Zachary Lavoie above average skater, will have to work on his agility and first step to be that transitional D man at the next level, shows patience and composure with the puck, size will be considered a weakness moving forward by some, but he competes and takes good routes to pucks on retrievals, solid gap control and stick positioning,

    69) Mathis Khoury Above average skate, solid two-way presence, needs to lengthen his stride to gain even more speed to play through the middle at the next level, good release for his size, needs to get stronger to make sure he wins puck battles at the junior level, Thinks the game well, and understands how to get to the quiet areas of the ice to create and generate scoring chances.

    70) Henry Lacelle crafty, shifty and very speedy forward, good in traffic and doesn’t avoid the dirty areas of the ice to create offensive opportunities, needs to sure up some defensive qualities within his game to make sure he gains the trust of his coaches at the next level, You can tell he takes a lot of pride on the defensive side of things, but just needs to win more puck and stick battles, good in the face off dot, and there’s no question he can play through the middle the next level based on his skating ability and how he processes the game,

    71) Emile Rioux strong skating two way defender, very good puck skills and composure with the puck in all three zones and doesn’t rush things on the offensive blue line which is great to see, willing to take a hit to make a play, projects to be a very good 2 zone defender at the next level, and someone that could slot in the 4 or 5 spot, transition pucks and defend against all the opposing teams top players, Obviously will have to get stronger to play that shut down in your face role, but is very close to being Q ready, Processes the game well, and always has his eyes up and willing to make a play while considering all of the options, Here’s a player at this ranking that might surprise and the team that selects him will have a very good defender for many years to come, Needs to tighten up his gap in certain situations through the neutral zone and that comes with more reps and experience, but he just has to trust his skating and play up/stand up in the neutral zone a touch more.

    72) Carter Odell feisty winger, skates well, will have to get stronger upper body wise to make sure he wins and competes in puck battles at the next level. Young players need to know if they’re going to engage and be a “physical in your face” type player or try to portray that or play to that identity you can’t take any nights off at the junior level.  Good puck skills and reads the play well, isn’t scared to go into traffic to create,

Prospects Ranked in the 5th Round by the CSR

    73) Edouard Salvas deep at times, and down early, moves well for his size, very square to the shooter, would like to see him telescope out more and challenge, Very athlete in there, has a tendency to drop his trapper a touch in the butterfly, His glove positioning might need some work as well, would like to see him catch more pucks and be a touch more in control, incredibly athletic, just needs to trust his technique and have quieter fit at times, sometimes over commits

    74) Mikael Perrault Smooth skating right shot D-man with great edge control and vision, very good passer of the puck, solid gap control, would like to see him stay more central, and watch his posture or defend more with his eyes up, will need to get stronger upper body wise to handle the rigours of the next level, but does compete hard, but needs to make sure his has more jam to his game at the next level,

    75) Jayden Shea Strong skater forward, thinks the game and position well, good in traffic, and has solid speed and edge control, good to see stops and starts, would like to see him not turn his back on the play at times, willing to engage even at this size, which is great to see, plays on the edge, moves the puck very well, will have to get stronger to ensure he wins puck battles if he plays through the middle at the next level, skilled enough to play up and down the lineup and gritty enough, but better suited to start on the wing at the junior level, but could project into a solid two way center

    76) Luke McGuire pesky two way center with great compete level, skating ability and hockey IQ, solid in the dot, competes like hell will have to prove he can compete through the middle at his size at the next level, but this kid has the will to battle and that can’t be taught, Plays a similar style to Islanders star forward Matthew Butler, could watch this kid play for days, isn’t scared to go to the dirty areas to create offensive time and space for himself and linemates, Again, people will question his size, but he will prove a lot of people wrong.

    77) Hugo Bergeron This kid could skate for days, tons of energy and thinks it incredibly well, great route skater and knows how to move into the quiet areas of the ice, again size and strength will be questioned here, but this kid competes like hell and can skate rings around players, isn’t scared to engage and go to the dirty areas, skilled enough to play in any situation and very good in traffic, love the fact this kid open face pivots and never turns his back on the play and stops on pucks, tons of potential in this player,

    78) Pierre-Antoine Chartrand-Bongono excellent skater, north south winger, reads the play well, creative player, good puck skills, and solid in traffic, with that speed and frame, would like to see him drive the net even more, competes equally hard at both ends which is rare in this era of the game at his age, tons of potential in this player,

    79) Felix Theroet solid skater, very quick and agile, active stick in all three zones, great on the forecheck and really hunts pucks, would like to see him a touch more patient or composed with the puck in traffic,  won’t drive a ton of points or offence at the next level, but can definitely be a reliable north/south energy player that will be tough to play against and put some points on the board, his U15 numbers are impressive and he does possess a solid release,

    80) Raphael Truchon above average skater, will have to maximize his agility and lateral movement to reach his full potential at the next level, thinks the game well, works like hell to win puck battles, Would like to see him carry his stick a touch differently, I realize it’s an individual thing, but better suited especially at the next level to hold it with the tip up instead of down especially given the speed at which the game is being played, strong as ox, but he really has to continue to work on that skating to have an impact at the next level.

    81) Mickael Rheaume prototypical power forward, skates well and tough to play against, but will have to work on his speed and agility to reach his full potential, very raw, but definitely has a knack for the net, his numbers in M17 proves that, but it’s all about pace of play and processing, from Point A to Point B, Rheaume can motor, but it’s the agile aspect of his stride that might be lacking, big and strong and plays big and strong which again is pretty rare, will need to continue to work on his puck skills and play in traffic, Could be a solid bottom six forward at the Jr level

    82) Zackary Renaud Solid technique, would like to see him challenge more and fight for his space at the top of the paint and that would make him better through traffic, moves well, will have to get stronger which will only enhance his quickness, has a tendency to over commit at times moving to his left, will need to refine that to reach his full potential at the Jr level,

    83) George-Nektarios Panagakos moves well for his size, covers a lot of the net, very square, and solid technically, has a tendency to lose his angle at times when players are coming in on the right side of the ice, gives up a lot room on the stick side, nice to see his glove stay up and in position when he goes into the butterfly, which is a tough thing to so with regards to bigger netminders. Will need to work on his recovery and quickness around the bottom of the net to have an impact at the next level.

    84) Aidan Graham very good skater, will have to continue to get stronger and more explosive if he wants to play through the middle at the junior level, competes hard and as a very good stick in all three zones, but will need even more jam to his game, responsible two way presence in the middle which is great to see, and you can tell takes a lot of pride in playing the game the right way. Crafty with the puck and uses his body well to shield attackers, Projects to be a solid middle six forward at the next level, just needs to get stronger upper body wise and continue to fight for time and space on the inside of the ice.

    85) Loik Savoie solid skater, takes good routes to pucks on retrievals solid gap control, but has to trust his skating even more and gap up even more especially in the neutral zone might not be the smoothest on his edges, but he’s strong and has an element of grit to his game,

    86) Cole Toms Big body winger, good set of hands and good in traffic, very good vision and passer of the puck, competes like hell and goes to all the right areas to create offensive pressure, solid skater, but will have to work on his explosiveness to reach his full potential at the next level, Can this kid ever pass the puck, his board work is tremendous, the subtle little plays he makes are outstanding, Here’s a prototypical power forward in the making that just needs time to develop his skating stride and look out, plays the position and game the right way, just needs to get a half step quicker and more agile,

    87) Hugo Vaillancourt skates very well for his size, posture, posture, posture, As the late Paul Boutilier stressed so much, it’s all about the eyes up, as soon as he reaches out with the stick his posture is strained opening up an area to the outside or inside to exploit, this kid has great gap control and a solid puck skills, doesn’t panic with the puck and isn’t scared to step up and be physical, Obviously like any young defender, he still needs to continue to work on his pivots and agility, but he has a tremendous foundation in which to build on, listed as 5’11 but plays a lot bigger than that, Can play in any situation, projects to be a very good 2 ½ zone D man at the junior level, Another issue with his posture it causes him to be out of balance at times or his weight to be too far over his toes, surprised to see this kid ranked where he is, he’s going to be solid addition to any blueline, again people will look at his size and question things, but he’s going to be a very good 5-6 defender in the league.

    88) Jamie Jaillet good skater, can play in any situation, not going to drive a bunch of offense at the next level, projects to be a 2 zone defender, active stick and thinks the game and position well, will have to bring even more jam to his game at the junior level, takes solid routes to pucks on puck retrievals, but that’s one area that any young D needs to work on, Would like to see him stay more central while defending through the neutral zone, again like a lot of young D, they stay too wide thus giving up quality ice in the middle.

    89) Justin Hamel very good skater, agile and explosive, solid gap control and an active stick, picks and chooses his spots when it comes to jumping up in the play, obviously like many young offensively minded defenders, will have to find that balance when it comes to trying to drive offense, while taking care of his own zone, Can play both sides, but looks more comfortable on his off side, which might cause some issues adapting to the next level, if played on his strong side pivot wise, but he skates well enough to figure that out and make the adjustment, Is illusive enough to break down forechecks and use his speed and natural talent to kick start the rush and transition

    90) Isaac De Franco gritty two way center, solid skater, again people will look at his size as a possible weakness, but he plays bigger than his size, skates well enough to play through the middle at the next level, but teams might elect to put him on the wing to start his junior career, competes like hell, which is great to see, very good puck skills and thinks the game and position very well, Will need to continue to use his speed and skill to engage more and get to the middle of the ice, Has speed to the outside, but to reach his full potential at the Jr level, he will have to make a living on the inside which he’s definitely capable of.

C Prospects Ranked by the QMJHL’s CSR By Alphabetical Order the 6th to 8th Rounds

    1. Xavier Boulay  very speedy forward, good puck skills, would like to see him stop on pucks a little more often in his own zone, very good in traffic, energy player that brings lots of grit, needs to continue to go into traffic at the next level, but very good skater and has a ton of upside,
    2. Liam Bowles solid skating D man, projects to be a two zone defender at the next level, will have to continue to work on his gap control, processes the game and position well and jumps into the play at the right times, needs to move the puck a touch quicker in certain situations especially on breakouts and regroups
    3. Miguel Duplessis speedy gritty forward, good puck skills, doesn’t mind going into high traffic areas to create, but will need to do even more of that at the next level, not going to drive a ton of offence at the Jr level, but definitely has a offence upside to his game, skilled and gritty enough to play up and down any lineup, Again, people will look at his size as a weakness, it’s all about the details he possesses in his game and his willingness to engage and compete.
    4. Brandon Gillard very good skater, thinks the game very well and has good vision, brings energy, good puck skills, very good release and quite accurate, will need to continue to engage and get to the middle more frequently to have an impact at the next level, active stick in all three zones, can really get in on the forecheck, but would like to see him be even more physical in those situations,
    5. Nash Gorman solid skating D, good stick and compete level, hard working transitional D who has very good puck skills and doesn’t mind going with the puck if the opportunity presents itself, would like to see him maintain his posture and not lunge at would be attackers in one on one battles especially below the dots in his own zone, plays on his toes and thinks the game and position well, Will need to get even more gritter and nasty to play against to have an impact at the next level
    6. Eric Hanley above average skater, will need to continue to work on his explosiveness and agility to reach full potential at the next level, needs to focus more on the details on the defensive side of the puck which will definitely lead to more opportunities offensively in transition, has a tendency to be above the puck in his own zone, good puck skills and good in traffic that’s where even more on his skating will pay even bigger dividends for him, tons of potential here just needs to get stronger and refine some areas of his game,
    7. Quinton Land solid skating D, thinks the game well, eager to jump in to support the rush when the right time presents itself, will need to continue work on his lateral mobility and quickness, won’t bring a ton of offence to the junior level, but will be a reliable two way, two zone D that can move pucks, good gap control and instincts with his stick, has a tendency to play too wide at times would like to see him play between the dots a touch more, would also like to see him not use two hands on his stick as much when backward skating playing a one on one
    8. Xavier LeBlanc moves well in there and is athletic, challenges, but as the game progresses has a tendency to get deeper, would like to see him telescope out more and trust his technique, his trapper is low at times when he’s in the butterfly opening some room above his glove, he’s square to the shooter and tracks the puck well from distance, he’s a battler in there which is great to see, has a slight tendency to over commit or push too far to one side or the other thus losing his net and looking off balance especially in scramble situations, in those moments that’s where he needs to trust his technique and process and be a touch more patient, Here’s a perfect example of young netminder that will make small refinements to his game and might need some more reps and time to reach his full potential, great foundation in which to build, tons of potential here,
    9. Hunter MacLean solid skating rangy two way forward, won’t bring a ton of offence to the junior level, but here’s a perfect example of a player that has a ton of upside, will bring energy every time he jumps over the boards and skates well enough to become a power forward, has good puck skills and processes the game well, just needs even more pace and agility to his game to reach his full potential at the next level, very good on the forecheck and hopefully that trend will continue, solid linear speed, and perhaps some teams will elect to eventually play him through the middle, but he’s perhaps better suited to be a winger at the junior level,
    10. Aron Meaden moves well, solid technique, he’s a puck stopper through and through and battles in there, might not look as polished as others, but gets the job done, might want to keep his glove side raised a touch higher during his lateral movements and pushes, square to the shooter and very athletic, another young netminder that just needs some more time and small refinements to reach their full potential,
    11. Leo Meng good skating D man, would like to see him tighten up his gap control even more and trust his skating, he skates well enough to play up tighter, active stick in all three zones and solid puck skills and good vision, great passer of the puck projects to be a solid two way, two and half zone defender, will have to get stronger and be even more nasty to have an impact at the next level, projects to be a very solid 5/6 D man at the junior level,
    12. Hudson O’Keefe strong skating winger has all the makings of a power forward, when it wants to go he can fly out there, just needs to be more consistent and continue to take good routes to pucks, Needs to get in even more on the forecheck and cause havoc, Consistency is the key with this player, tons of potential in this player, would like to see him be a touch more patient with the puck especially given his puck skills and ability to make plays, Untapped potential and quiet talent, when this player hits their full stride lookout, they’re capable of doing a lot of damage,
    13. Bryson O’Neil Good skater for his size, moves well, good puck skills, will need to work on his edge work and agility to have an impact at the next level, Again a lot of these rangy young forwards just need more time to grow into their bodies and become complete menaces can really fire a puck, he’s not going to bring a ton of offence to the Jr level, but he will bring a ton of energy and grit if he continues on a good trajectory while working on his explosiveness and agility
    14. Marc-Olivier Ouellette solid skating D, good gap control and active stick, plays on his toes which is great to see, but would like him to let the game come to him a touch more, always eager to jump into and support the rush, but has to be mindful of his defensive responsibilities first, Needs to continue to be tough to play against and bring even more grit and jam to his game at the next level, good puck skills and processes the game well projects to be a solid 5/6 two zone defender at the Jr level.
    15. Samuel Williams solid skating defender, reads the play well, at times gets too wide and gives up quality ice through the middle especially in transition, Plays the right side which isn’t the easiest thing to do as a lefty, but he’s solid on that side, No doubt better suited to play his strong side at the next level, rugged defender that doesn’t back down and takes a hit to make a play which is great to see,  good passer of the puck and always has his eyes and head up, Will need to continue to work on his skating and get even stronger, but has a great foundation in which to build, Has a nasty shutdown defender written on over him

Atlantic Canadians Ranked as “E” Prospects or Eligible for the Draft as Ranked by the CSR in Alphabetical Order and Players Added by Teams

    1. Connor Allaby smart two-way winger, skates well and thinks the game equally as well if not better, fun to watch creating opportunities out there, clearly size will be called into question by critics, but this kid competes, Allaby is in the right place at the right time every time which is great to see and again speaks to his hockey sense.
    2. Jack Baldwin solid skater, good speed and compete level, will need to continue to bring even more energy and grit to the Jr level to have an impact at that level, good puck skills and solid shot as well, gets it off in a hurry and it’s accurate,
    3. Blake Boutilier smooth skating right shot D man with good puck skills, thinks the game very well and is eager to  jump into the rush and support the attack, very good stick in all three zones, would like to see him gap up a little tighter, Will need to continue to get stronger to reach full potential at the next level, projects to be a solid two and a half zone D with transitional skills
    4. Calvin Carver hard working two way gritty winger who skates well, would like to see him slightly more composed with the puck and trust his skill set a touch more, love his compete level and the energy he brings to every shift, Here’s a perfect example of a player that probably shouldn’t be Ranked as a E, but I’ll tell you the team that drafts this kid will like what he brings, good puck skills and wicked speed to the outside, it’s all about continuing to get to the middle at the next level with the same urgency, this kid can play and is skilled enough to play up and down the lineup
    5. Henry Collingwood solid skater for his size and age, long heavy stick, isn’t scared to mix it up and be a real shutdown force, thinks the game and position well, Will have to get even quicker and more agile to make an impact at the Jr level, but has a very solid foundation in which to build. Very strong linear frontward skater, good puck skills, needs to tighten up his gap control, but that will come with increase speed and agility, a lot of potential in this player.
    6. Riley Cormier solid skater, above average puck skills, would like him to use his puck skills even more and hang onto the puck a touch longer to ensure he makes the right play, will need to show even more urgency on the forecheck and continue to work on his quickness and strength to reach his full potential at the Jr level,
    7. Sean Dwyer Type of player that could skate for days, thinks the game very well, looks like a natural on the wing, but could definitely play through the middle at the U18 level and potentially if he gets stronger and even quicker at the Jr level, His routes and puck support is off the charts which is great to see, the way he takes back ice and times things out is truly exceptional to watch and very few players his age can process those things,
    8. Sam Flemming ultra smart and skilled scoring forward that processes the game incredibly well, great shot for his size and can he ever get it off in a hurry, Again everyone is going to look at his size and say he’s too small to have an impact at the Jr. level, but this kid thinks it on a different level, speedy, shifty two-way center, does everything at top speed, gritty energy player, probably better suited to play the wing at the Jr. level, but can definitely skate through the middle if he gets stronger, competes like hell, and processes the game well, backchecks with the same intensity as when he has the puck on his stick, which is a rare and incredibly invaluable trait to possess these days.
    9. Noah Hackett solid skating defender with solid puck skills and a good first pass, Will need to get stronger and even more nastier to ensure he reaches his full potential at the Jr level, Thinks the game well and makes subtle plays that help kick start transition, Would like to see a touch more urgency below the dots when he has possession of the puck and while defending, Again given his size some might say he’s too small to have an mpact, but he just needs more time and reps to grow into a solid two way transitional D man
    10. Nash Haverstock hard working two way energy player that skates very well, this kid’s work ethic and two way presence jumps off the screen which is great to see, feisty and gritty competitor, hunts pucks on the forecheck and has good puck skills and processes the game very well,
    11. Liam Healy solid netminder, he’s a battler in there, very athletic,  challenges well and square to the shooter, would like to see him challenge even more in there and trust his skating ability and technique, he’s a puck stopper through and through, would like to see him to continue to refine his rebound control and potentially freeze even more pucks, Solid glove, but that’s another area of refinement to ensure he reaches his full potential, Again diminutive netminders are frequently criticized, Healy competes like hell in there and would do just about anything to stop the puck and give his team a chance to win,
    12. Benjamin Henry Solid skating stay at home defender, projects to be a tough two zone defender with transitional capability given his size and skating ability, Henry also brings a lot of grit to the position and game, solid puck skills and good passer of the puck, will need to continue to work on his agility to get even quicker in tight areas especially when defending below the tops of the circles in his own zone, this kid has a lot of potential just needs to continue to make small refinements to his game, great to see a player from U16 AAA jump up a level and have an impact, Definitely a sleeper pick for a team that could give this kid even more time, good candidate to play Jr A next year and be ready to step into a Q line up at 18.
    13. Kaegan Hounsell Great skater and possesses very good puck skills and patience with the puck in traffic, Will need to get stronger and more engaged defensively at times to reach full potential at the next level, but tons of potential here, skates well enough to play through the middle, but will need to become even more explosive and agile to skate through the middle at the Q level, processes the game very well and knows how to create time and space,
    14. Ethan Jones Smart two way center, good skater, thinks the game very well, very active stick in all three zones especially down low while defending, good release and distributes the puck very well through the middle, Will have to continue to work on his speed and agility to make the biggest impact at the next level, no doubt could probably play both positions up front, but he’s potentially better suited on the wing at the Q level,
    15. Brock Lyons  This kid can flat out shoot the puck, he has a pro release and it’s accurate, Obviously tremendously skilled with great hands, but needs to continue to work on his skating stride, agility and speed in order to play within a Q teams Top 6, Lyons has a massive amount of potential, but just needs to put the work in on his skating, Lyons is always around it and finds all the quiet areas of the offensive zone and he can execute and is lethal when firing the puck, Can score from anywhere, no doubt one of the best releases of the draft, he’s a pure shooter and scorer, Could be scary good if his skating progresses over the next few years.
    16. Hugh MacDonald  big body right shot D with solid speed and skating ability, obviously still coming on into his own and still growing and developing, good puck skills and passing ability, Again it’s great to see another U16 AAA player having an impact with the U18 AAA level, tons of potential here will need to continue to work on his skating and edge control and play with even more grit to reach his potential at the next level, but here’s another sleeper pick potential,
    17. Matt MacDonald solid skating skilled energy player with good puck skills and compete level, reliable two way presence, type of player that can play in any situation, very active stick in all three zones, just needs to continue to get to the middle of the ice and continue to execute at the next level,
    18. Griffin MacEachern good skating two-way defender, good gap control and processes the game well, projects to be a solid depth defender at the Junior level, will need to continue to work on his lateral mobility and agility with regards to his pivots in open ice and in small areas of the defensive zone
    19. Nate MacKay  hard working energy player, solid skater, good puck skills, competes like hell, will need to continue to bring even more energy and grit to reach his full potential at the next level, here’s a kid that won’t light the world on fire offensively, but he’s skilled and gritty enough to play up and down any lineup at the Jr. level
    20. Max MacKenzie  Above average skating rangy defender, projects to be a two zone defender, solid stick positioning while defending, needs to work on his agility and lateral mobility while defending below the tops of the circles in his own zone,
    21. Nicholas Mackenzie Solid skating rearguard, powerful stride and plays a nasty in your face style of game, processes the game and position well, Solid gap control, good puck skills, will need to continue to work on his explosiveness and agility from a backward skating perspective, very strong forward skater, tons of nasty in your face defending in this player which is great to see, projects to be a solid shutdown two zone depth defender
    22. Alistair MacPhee very good skating gritty hard nosed transitional defender, doesn’t backdown from anything which is great to see, obviously size will be called into question, but no one will ever question the size of his heart and compete level, this kid cares  a lot about all three zones, he’s a sparkplug back there and brings energy every shift, less is always more, I think the more he lets the game come to him the better, his skating and routes to pucks are good, he will need to continue to work on getting stronger and even more quicker to reach his full potential at the next level, but this kid will find a way to get there, a matter of fact he’s driven to get there!
    23. Bodan McFadden reliable two way player, will have to get stronger to have an impact at the Jr level, good puck skills and thinks the game well, with increased strength his skating will improve, but he still needs to continue to work on his agility and speed, love seeing him stop on pucks especially in his own zone
    24. Thomas Morgan solid skating D man, would like to see him step up and gap up even more, processes the game well, solid puck skills, will need to continue to refine his skating to gain more explosiveness and agility,
    25. Maxime Morin speedy skilled forward, will have to get stronger and continue to engage and get to the middle of the ice at the Jr. level, from a stats perspective had a very good year in the high school ranks and it’s great to see him on the CSR List, smart player that uses his smarts to gain an advantage that trend needs to continue for him to reach his full potential at the next level,
    26. Silas Mullins solid netminder,  very square and moves very well in there, tracks pucks well, quick to bounce on lose pucks, solid glove, like many other young goalies would like to see him telescope even more and challenge more, down early at times which exposes some space above his trapper, has a tendency to drop his glove hand in the butterfly as well,
    27. Maddox Neuman Solid technique, moves well, would like to see him challenge more and telescope out more, Covers the bottom of the net very well, quick to recover, getting stronger will help his overall game, Would like to see him keep his blocker and trapper a touch higher when he’s in the crouch position, very comfortable in there and athletic, you can tell he’s a battler
    28. Alexis Noel moves well in there and challenges well,  square to the shooter, needs to get stronger to move even faster especially in scramble situations or when in the butterfly, here’s another young goalie that might need some more time and reps to refine some areas of their game to reach their full potential at the next level in a year or two, potential here
    29. Ethan Pitcher solid two way defender skates well and will have to continue to work on his agility and lateral movement to reach his full potential at the Jr level, good puck skills and good first pass, You can tell this kid works his arse off and really cares deeply every shift which is great to see, here’s a kid that plays to his identity which is a transitional two and half zone defender, which is great to see and very rare,  Pitcher doesn’t force things or try to do too much with the puck he moves it efficiently and effectively, here’s another perfect example of a kid with quiet talent, some people might think he’s raw, but when this kid gets stronger look out because he will be a force and be very tough to play against, already possesses an in your face hard nosed style of play and will have to get even nastier to reach his full potential at the next level,
    30. Mika Richard solid skating energy player with two way presence, would like to see him engage even more and show more urgency and jam to his game, processes the game and position well and brings good energy, but will need to continue to elevate to reach his full potential at the next level,
    31. Mikko Robichaud always tough to project young netminders on teams U18/Prep Schools that struggled, Robichaud has solid technique, but he’s down early and needs to trust his technique and process even more to reach his full potential, getting stronger will help in all facets of his game, from handling the puck, rebound control and his recovery.
    32. Jaden Smith solid skating winger with very solid puck skills, and a good shot, would like to see him engage more in the defensive zone and show more urgency in his D Zone, active stick, put up good offensive numbers this year, but needs to play a more well rounded game bring an even more consistent effort to reach his full potential at the Jr level, very good in traffic, here’s a player if he brings the same effort that he as when the pucks on his stick in the defensive zone would definitely pay dividends
    33. Joshua Stewart solid skating winger, good puck skills and good passer, would like to see him stop on pucks more in his own zone, needs to be a lot stronger on his stick and engage more in one on one battles, needs to bring more urgency and jam to his game in all three zones, here’s a player that once he finds even greater compete level on the defensive side of things will become a different player
    34. Cooper Strong responsible two-way winger that competes like hell, skates well and brings tons of energy, very patient with the puck in al three zones which is great to see, very good passer of the puck and play maker, this kid makes the right play at the right times and competes, will need to get stronger to reach his full potential at the next level, but is also skilled enough to play up and down any lineup
    35. Travis Tremblay Solid skater, extremely hard working winger with solid puck skills, passing ability and vision, energy player every time he steps on the ice, reliable two way presence, here’s a kid that can play in any situation and that coaches trust all of the time, he just has to keep working on his explosiveness and agility to reach his full potential at the next level, Tremblay is in the right place at the right time always which speaks volumes about his hockey sense, but also the attention to detail in his game. He definitely has deceptive speed, he just needs to continue to build on that and the way he works he will definitely find a way to have an impact at the Jr level, At 5’9 critics will say he’s too small, but this kid can flat out play the game and he does it the right way
    36. Andrew Urquhart solid skater, hard working winger, will need to get stronger and continue to hunt pucks and be even more physical to reach his full potential at the next level, definitely a two way player, active stick in all three zones, would like to see him stop on pucks  with more frequency in his own zone, but you could say that about a lot of young forwards, thinks the game very well and has very good puck skills and can he ever rip the puck, hard and very accurate shot, here’s a player that with some small refinements in his game and even more jam could be a very effective player at the Jr level.
    37. Aaron Whitten Solid skating two-way winger, processes the game well, good puck skills, needs to engage even more and get to the middle and create time and space for himself and teammates in order to reach his full potential at that Jr level,
    38. Jeremy Wilson good skating defender, good pivots and active stick, good first pass, will need to continue to get even quicker and more agile to have an impact at the next level, projects to be a very steady and reliable two and a half zone defender that can definitely jump into the rush to contribute when needed, would like to see him tighten up his gap control even more and be a little more connected to his D partner, gives up a touch too much ice in the middle in his own zone, Again here’s a young defender that can really play just needs to refine some aspects so he can be an effective D at the Jr level
    39. Malik Bell  hard working, energy player with good speed, thinks the game well, will need to play with even more jam and grit to make an impact at the next level, uses his body well to shield the puck and is a very good passer of the puck, here’s a kid that if he continues to get even stronger could definitely play a key role as a depth winger at the junior level. Bell needs a touch more time to refine things, but you’re going to see a definite increase in his point totals over the next few years, he works too hard and goes to all the right areas of the ice not to get more points, a lot of potential in this player
    40. Lucas Chisholm solid skating defender, needs to continue to work on his agility and edge control so he can defender more efficiently and effectively below the dots, would like to see him be a touch more patient with the puck on breakout or transition opportunities but that will come with time and more reps, solid gap control, but would also like to see him maintain his posture even more in one on one situations while backward skating.
    41. Dax Doiron moves well in there, very square and athletic, good technique, needs to stay quieter in certain situations to not over commit, needs to stay connected and trust his technique especially in the butterfly, down early at times, tons of potential just needs some refinement in certain areas of his game,
    42. Jaxon Fraser very good skater, type of player that skate for days, very good puck skills, excellent compete level and two way presence, great to see this endlessly compete, engage and get to the middle so often, Again his size will come into question, but this gets it, he’s in all of the right spots on the ice at all the right times which speaks to his hockey IQ, Like all young players that think the game well, he has to be mindful of his body language at times where he doesn’t necessarily get the puck at the right times, highly skilled at both ends of the ice, he just needs to continue to work hard and opportunities will come at the Jr level.
    43. London Gillis solid skating defender, processes the position and game well, good puck skills and very composed in the offensive zone with the puck on their stick, very aggressive through the neutral which is great to see very good gap control, just needs to continue to get stronger and play an even gritter style of play to reach his full potential at the next level, doesn’t hesitate to move the puck the quickly and effectively
    44. Mitchell Goodine very good puck skills and processes the game very well, good passer of the puck, will need to get even tougher to play against and quicker to reach his full potential in the Jr level, engages and gets to the middle of the ice, but he needs to execute on a more consistent basis from that area of the ice, would like to see him stop on pucks with more frequency especially in his own zone, so more urgency on the defensive side of the things will serve this player very well moving forward. Very good skater just needs to play with a touch more pace and grit
    45. Joshua Henry This report is from his draft year and I don’t think a lot has changed since then other than Henry making a few stops at the Jr level along the way, He must have caught the attention of a certain team or several teams because it looks like a team added to the draft list, From 2024, Incredibly gifted player with tremendous skating ability, solid puck skills and natural ability, He’s a transporter of the puck and projects to be a full three zone defender at the QMJHL level, but that might take some time, He defends well, but might have to tidy up some tendencies in the defensive zone with his stick positioning and angling below the dots, but that can be said about any young defencemen, He’s Q ready and can definitely step in and play in a 5/6 role as a 16 yr old, and probably contribute on the 2nd unit power play, but again he will have to tighten up some aspects of his processing and defensive game if he wants to jump in and play that 5/6 role in the Q next year. Solid first pass coupled with his ability to lug the puck and read and react, will need to move it a slight bit faster and get stronger from an upper body perspective to ensure he wins his share of puck battles at the next level.
    46. Ryder Patterson moves well, down early at times needs to trust things in there, he’s a battler, and it’s always difficult to judge and project young goaltenders on team’s that struggle, just needs to continue to get more reps and experience and refine some of areas of his technique to be more effective and efficient between the pipes.
    47. Marshall Smith speedy gritty forward who is incredibly effective on the forecheck, good in the dot, This kid plays a lot bigger than his stature and competes like hell, he’s really good in traffic and has great hands in tight, shoots the puck well, Here’s a player that might get passed over by some teams based on his size, but they won’t discredit his compete level and skill because kid brings it every time he steps on the ice,
