Let’s just say things are going to get interesting heading into the final hours of the 2021-2022 QMJHL Trade Period.

It’s been a slower than normal year given all the uncertainty surrounding the new Omicron variant and surge of COVID-19.
To be brutally honest, I have absolutely nothing to report on potential breaking trades.
I’m not in the business of breaking trades these days and that’s a good thing.
One can assume every player and their families will be relieved when the deadline ends at 1pm Atlantic time.
Deals that get made in the final few hours of the trade period are often extremely hard to comprehend and navigate.
You see the work of a GM never really ends, they are on 24/7. This is where they earn their salary, their decisions at this point of year and particular cycle directly impacts their future success or struggles in the league.
I don’t care who you are, that’s just a crazy amount of pressure. The last minute deals are often the most difficult to make from a personal and professional standpoint.
It’s more than just moving an asset, it’s moving a foundational piece to their entire organization. Nevertheless, when big deals, or true hockey trades are made they leave a lasting impression on everyone.
The final few hours of any trade deadline are always intriguing, this years version will definitely leave its own impression on several franchises.
