Charlottetown, Prince Edward Island’s own Kameron Kielly has done it the right way throughout his entire career.

That’s what makes yesterday’s signing with the Iowa Wild so special.

Kameron Kielly’s journey in the game proves that hard work, dedication, trusting the process and paying your dues will ultimately take you where you want to go.

The highly skilled two-way forward had a fantastic QMJHL career while flying under the radar.

Kielly was one of the most complete, but underrated players in the QMJHL.

He never really received the credit or the press that he may have deserved during his time in the Q.

Kielly’s honest two-way game may landed him a few NHL Dev. Camp invites in the past, but his three consecutive 40 pt seasons in the very competitive AUS proves now more than ever that the timing is right for him to make the jump to the pro game.

The Panthers may not have had the strongest of teams over the past three years, but Kielly’s leadership, consistency, compete level and stats were remarkable.

A fantastic leader, a phenomenal teammate an underrated goal scorer, and a great person, that’s Kameron Kielly.

Kielly is looking to follow in the foot steps of another former PEI Panther standout; Joel Ward.

Ward’s inspirational journey from USports to the bright lights of the NHL was one of persistence and perseverance.

Ward retired from the National Hockey League in April after an incredible thirteen year professional career, which saw the former Panther skate in 809 career NHL games.

Kameron Kielly’s character, unwavering passion and willingness to do whatever it takes to get to the next level has the twenty-three year old forward potentially on the same career trajectory as Ward.

Time will certainly tell, but it’s great to see a player like Kameron Kielly, who plays the game the right way get an opportunity to prove himself at the pro level.
