Could they be revealing their new Head Coach? Could it be a newly signed player?

Obviously, Dave Cameron’s name has surfaced as a possible candidate for Head Coach, and there’s a sense that the organization will get announce something before the draft.

The Sea Dogs have been doing a fantastic job interviewing alumni over the past few weeks so you never know it might be a couple of former players talking about their draft day experiences and walk down memory lane or it might be 17-year-old highly touted center Cam MacDonald.

Is that really an unsolved mystery?

Ever since Peter Reynolds signed with the organization the rumour mill has been running rampant that MacDonald would follow suit.

One source said there’s a “pretty good” chance of him signing with the Dogs, while an other had this to say.

“That’s what I’m hearing but nothing confirmed.”

Landing MacDonald would be another shot in the arm for an already young highly skilled team.

Where would MacDonald fit in?

MacDonald has great individual skill and possesses outstanding puck skills and an above average shot.

The rangy center is a good skater and has solid speed to the outside.

In 44 games in the USHL this season with the Sioux Falls Stampede, MacDonald scored 6 times and added 14 helpers.

If the Sea Dogs were to land MacDonald they would probably pencil him in as a 2nd line center, but things might be a little crowded up front given all the highly skilled forwards they have.

Is a move to the wing a possibility?

MacDonald’s big frame and speed to the outside coupled with his individual skill and knack to get to the net might be just what the doctor order for a highly skilled play making center like Brady Burns.

It remains to be seen what direction the Sea Dogs will take as far as hiring a new Head Coach or if they can land another highly touted NCAA commit.

Nevertheless, they certainly opened up a can of worms as far as speculation goes announcing two mystery guests for Pre Draft Show.

It’s exciting time for the City of Saint John and their beloved Sea Dogs.
