Groulx and McIsaac to the Wildcats?

TVA’s Mikael Lalancette is never wrong!

Well Moncton Wildcats fans certainly hope not!

Lalancette has made a career out of scooping stories and breaking trades.

There’s no doubt his latest tweet just sent the Hub City and Wildcats fans into a frenzy!

Benoit Olivier Groulx and Jared McIsaac will be Moncton Wildcats in the new year!

Given the duos participation with the Canada’s World Junior Selection Camp and Team the blockbuster trade can’t be made official until the end of the tournament.

Trust me this amazing news for a team dealing with their fare share of adversity and drama right now.

It’s still unclear what will happen with the Cats coaching situation, but this move brings much needed stability, skill and grit to the Wildcats lineup.

Jared McIsaac and Benoit Olivier Groulx are the perfect fit for the Moncton Wildcats

McIsaac brings the right blend of skill, speed, grit and mobility to the Cats lineup.

McIsaac will be a difference maker and can play in any situation while Groulx will probably slide into the Cats top line with relative ease and either play the wing or in the middle.

Groulx could also play the middle on the Cats 2nd line which will subsequently move Mika Cyr to the wing along side Jeremy McKenna.

The Mooseheads duo led their team all the way to the Memorial Cup Final last season losing in heartbreaking fashion on home ice to the Rouyn-Noranda Huskies.

McIsaac and Groulx have unfinished business, and you can bet they will be extra motivated to have another chance to play for junior hockey’s holy grail.

It’s likely McIsaac will be paired with Jordan Spence or Axel Andersson.

Andersson has found great chemistry along side Sean Stewart, but I could see Stewart slide down and play a shut down role with Tristan De Jong.

Can you say perfect fit!

The addition of McIsaac has all the makings of a championship calibre blueline.

If Lalancette’s tweet is true which it is, the Wildcats have addressed two significant requirements to take the step toward a championship or two!

It goes without saying that the addition of Benoit-Oliver Groulx solidifies the Cats Top 6 and moves players into a more suitable and ideal role.

It would appear the Moncton Wildcats are just getting warmed up!
