The Boston Bruins 2nd rounder stole the show for the Moncton Wildcats in his 1st QMJHL game.

As predicted Andersson quarterbacked the Cats second unit showcasing his creativity, elite puck skills and vision.

Andersson assisted on both Wildcats power play goals.

The smooth skating crafty defencemen possesses amazing hockey sense and offensive instincts.

The 57th overall selection of the 2018 NHL Entry Draft jumped into the play several times to create offensive opportunities.

The 19-year-old import was also solid in his own zone in his debut.

Don’t be fixated on the the young highly skilled defenders plus minus. Andersson was very good and extremely accountable in his zone all night long for the Cats.

Andersson finished the night with -2 logging bug minutes in his debut.

The Mooseheads 3rd goal was a redirect that Wildcats netminder and Oilers draft pick Olivier Rodrigue just couldn’t find through traffic.

The Swedish import was physically engaged in all three zones and had incredible gap control and an active stick in his QMJHL debut.

Andersson’s ability to adjust to a new league, new team and several D partners throughout the game truly showcases the defenders skill and adaptability.

The Mooseheads served up several opportunities for the Cats coming down the stretch with the man advantage, but the Wildcats coaching staff didn’t elected to put Andersson on the 5-3 power play late in the 3rd.

Obviously the outcome wasn’t ideal for Andersson’s Wildcat debut, nevertheless the sky is the limit for Axel Andersson and the Moncton Wildcats moving forward.
