Week 6 is now behind us folks and that means that the New Brunswick high school football playoffs are just around the corner. The results have been all over the place, all season long, and I think we can all agree that it should make for some pretty interesting playoffs. This week’s game have some playoff implications but from a prediction standpoint, this should be one of the easier weeks for our 3 analyst.
The games that really stand out this week are definitely the Friday night game between the Bernice McNaughton Highlanders and the Oromocto Blues. The Blues are 5-1 on the year but have had a bit of an easier schedule. The Highlanders are coming off a good performance against the KVHS Crusaders and this could be a really big win for them if they can find a way past the Blues. This is the team that intrigues me the most up till now as they have produced some very strong results, and some disappointing ones.
In the 12 man division, the Moncton High Purple Knights travel to Saint John to face the Greyhounds, who have a 3-3 record on the season. The Purple knights are coming off a disappointing loss to the Fredericton High school Black Kats. It will be interesting to see how the Purple Knights rebound in this contest, as the Knights are always a team to watch down the stretch.
