FDS Local: NB High School Football – Week 4 predictions

tommies
It’s approaching mid-season in the New Brunswick high school football league, and the surprising results are not slowing down to say the least. The biggest question that was asked amongst the NB high school football fans, and something I had covered in a previous article, was how the teams moving from the 12-man to 10-man division would influence the results. So far, they have been very respectable. The Harrison Trimble Trojans lost their first contest of the season by a score of 21-16 to the Oromocto Blues. The Blues were expected to be good this season but they are actually exceeding expectations around the league. They had easier match-ups in their first 2 contest but knocking off Harrison Trimble on the road is big statement. The game in the 10-man division that I am intrigued by the most this week is the Blues playing host to the Cinderella story Ecole Sainte-Anne Castors. The Castors have a 2-1 record in their first ever season and have put lots of points on the board so this should be a good test for the Blues.

On the 12-man side, Tantramar remains the dominant force after a 43-0 victory over the Moncton High Purple Knights. They host the winless Fredericton High school Black Kats on Saturday in Sackville. The game of the week in this division will be Moncton High versus the Riverview Royals. Their score lines were very similar facing the Titans, however, the word around the league is that the Royals simply had a bad day in Sackville. That their 38-0 thumping of L’Odyssee may help their case. We will see. Moncton High’s wing T offence is never an easy task but has only accounted for an average of 12.3 points a game which is much lower than we have seen in the past. One thing however is that Moncton High is equipped with one of the best coaching staffs in the province and are never a program to sleep on. Let the surprises continue! Here is our weekly predictions for week 4!
