The Moncton Wildcats will have “Boots” on the ground when the 2024-2025 season starts. Taylor and Gardiner MacDougall have moved fast since they arrived on the scene in the Hub City. The Moncton Wildcats have hired an amazing defensive specialist, consultant, coach and mentor in Paul “Boots” Boutilier.

Boutilier’s addition to the coaching staff as a defensive consultant is an instant game changer for the Wildcats.
“Boots” possesses a wealth of knowledge and will undoubtedly make each individual better and the entire Wildcats defensive structure better. His knowledge of the game and position along with his track record and resume speak for itself.
“Boots” is a phenomenal teacher, mentor and an amazing asset for the Moncton Wildcats.
Boutilier’s ability to communicate with players while providing constructive impactful feedback, support and advice is truly a game changer in the realm of player development. The learning curve is steep for any defenders who call the QMJHL and CHL home. Boutilier’s presence will propel players to new heights in every aspect of the game and position. Boutilier’s programing provides a platform for higher learning when it comes to the defence position.
When people set out to acquire a degree, they understand that it’s a journey, a process that will take a set amount of time, effort and experience in which to gain a mastery of the curriculum to earn a degree.
Boutilier created “44 Seconds”, an In-Season Defensive Development Program that helps defencemen across the hockey world navigate all aspects of the position and the game. Boutilier’s students are driven to succeed and to enhance their knowledge and reach their full potential while earning a “Degree in Defence” from the program.
“I am thrilled to add Paul “Boots” Boutilier to our development staff in Moncton. His experience and work in player development is revered across the hockey world, but more importantly he is a person whose values and ideologies around player development are aligned with ours. He will play an integral role in our organization, and I couldn’t be more excited for him to begin working with our current players and prospects,” General Manager and Director of Hockey Operations for the Moncton Wildcats Taylor MacDougall said in the team’s press release.
“I’m honored to receive a call from the Moncton Wildcats and pleased to work alongside Gardiner and Taylor MacDougall. Their strong belief in quality player education and teaching in a positive way aligns perfectly with the values of my defence development program,” said Boutilier.
“I couldn’t be more excited to join the organization and continue to build a competitive culture for Wildcat players that rivals anything in junior hockey.”
Collaboration is critical in the hockey world in order to have success.
Paul Boutilier will hit the ground running for the Moncton Wildcats in the 2024-2025.
